Advent Seasonal Fun

There are some easy ways to make Advent a special time for your family to turn your hearts to Jesus. These excerpts from our Family Devotional, Good Dirt, can help families, friends, and roommates celebrate Advent in tangible ways. Many of these ideas are just as good for the adults as they are for the kids!

Family devotions for Advent

I'm excited to share a new resource to help your family center on Jesus as Christmas approaches! Together with a friend of mine, I've worked to create a daily devotional guide for families with kids between 5-12 years old. Each day there is a brief prayer, reading from the Gospels, questions/activities for kids, and an end-of-the-day question or two. There are also some great suggestions for simple ways to help kids celebrate Advent.

We will have the booklet available in the lobby on Sunday (at the Children's Ministry sign-in table) but here it is for good measure! Enjoy!

(by the way, individuals could use this devotional too. Some of it is obviously meant for children, but the readings and questions are still good to ponder at any age. And who knows, maybe drawing a picture or playing with silly putty is just what you need.)
